Sara Aguilar is a Documentary Filmmaker, Editor, Director, and Cultural Activist born in El Salvador & based in Los Angeles.
Her work challenges the representation of women in film and highlights contributions made by marginalized groups. Sara documents how communities implement alternative approaches to education, health, music, art, dance, food, and more by working closely with artists & organizations to grow their visions through media. She has worked with several organizations including Echo Parenting & Education, Justice for My Sister, El Puente Hacia La Esperanza, and the Alliance for California Traditional Arts among others.
Sara creates videos with individuals and organizations that are consciously building and affecting positive change. She holds a B.A. in World Arts and Cultures and a Master's Degree in Education from the University of California Los Angeles.
